What is Bikram Yoga?

Bikram's Beginning Yoga Class is a twenty-six asana (posture) series designed to systematically warm and stretch muscles, ligaments and tendons, in the order in which they should be stretched.

Bikram Yoga's twenty-six posture exercises move fresh, oxygenated blood to one hundred percent of your body, to each organ and fiber, restoring all systems to healthy working order, just as nature intended.

Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health, and a sense of well-being will automatically follow.

"No matter how old or sick, or out of shape, you can still stretch and have a new beginning with yoga."
- Bikram Choudhury

The asanas are all explained in an easy to follow way and your instructor guides the class and explains corrections to keep your practice safe and to encourage you to move deeper into your practice.

Please notify the instructor of any injuries or fears before the class begins. Bikram Yoga is a challenging 90 minute series of 26 postures that will strengthen the mind, shape, sculpt and heal the body.

Designed for beginning thru advanced yoga students, Bikram Yoga is practiced in a heated room. The heat allows you to work deeper into the muscles increasing flexibility, cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength.

Aside from providing a complete workout, Bikram Yoga has been known to work miracles. Some physical benefits of Bikram Yoga include: balancing and strengthening of glands, body organs, and the nervous system.

Other benefits include, stress relief, improved circulation and digestion, reversing the aging process and weight loss.

Bikram Yoga is also a "mind workout" that enhances emotional awareness, energy levels, concentration, patience and self confidence.
